The W
The Wolf Club™ is the result of several years of work that began the summer before my seventh birthday. Since writing Last One Left: Saving Endangered Animals I have traveled to schools, churches, and animal sanctuaries sharing my story and trying to get others to join me in the journey of saving animals and taking care of the earth. It was then that I figured out the problem; lots of people wanted to help, but had no idea how to turn their passion into action. The Wolf Club™ is a way to focus our efforts in raising money, teaching other kids, and protecting the earth and its animals.
The W 5 steps to success For Student Leaders 1. Get permission from your parent/guardian Let your parents know you are excited about protecting the Earth and want to get involved! You’ll need to identify an adult mentor who is willing to pick the cans up from school and bring them to the redemption center. 2. Find a redemption center in your area Make sure there is a redemption center in your area. Here is a good place to start: 3. Decide how you will use the money you get from the redemption My class is using the money to sponsor endangered Siberian Tigers. 4. Present the project to your teacher and principal It will be helpful to know some facts about why recycling is important. Share with them that you’ve identified a redemption center and an adult that is willing to bring the cans there. Offer to crush the cans that are donated during your free periods such as lunch or recess. Remember, when you are excited about something it is contagious. Get excited about saving the earth and your teacher will too! 5. Start advertising! Once you have permission you need to spread the word. We made a giant poster for the third grade hallway along with a container to put the cans in. Next we are working on a flyer to send home. If you need any help email me at |
